I love to snack on chips as much as anyone else but to cut calories, I make homemade guacamole or salsa and use fresh cucumber slices instead of tortilla/corn chips. Yes, I know it's not the same, but at least I can have as much as I want and not feel guilty about it. Besides, I really like the crunch of the cucumbers and giving myself and my family a better option to snack on. My favorite is eating cucumber slices with guacamole; it's fresh and cool during the summer.
Like I said, it doesn't taste the same but it is a great alternative when you're either trying to lose or maintain your weight: 13 tortilla chips = 140 calories OR a whole 8" sliced cucumber = 45 calories.
Other dipping options: cheese ball, queso, cream cheese with salsa or jelly/preserves, spinach/artichoke dip, etc.
