HOME REMEDY: HONEY MASSAGE MASK

INTERVENTION: I usually have "normal" skin but in the summers and winters, the weather in New Mexico is too harsh for my skin especially my face. My face is accustomed to lavender oil and fresh aloe applied daily but sometimes I need a little extra help when it's so dry.

I went to a local farmer's market in Edgewood, NM yesterday where about 10 local farmers come and set up a row where you can leisurely shop and sample every Thursday (it's first opening of the season was yesterday). Among the beautiful produce, herbs, fresh lemonade, bread, quail eggs, etc. that I acquired, I bought some fresh raw honey that was extracted a couple of weeks ago.

This honey mask is a sweet way to soften, deeply hydrate and moisturize your skin. It will leave your skin with a rosy glow, soft & supple, from increased circulation and deep hydration.

HONEY MASSAGE MASK
2-3 t fresh, raw honey at room temperature

Honey thins & gets runnier as it warms to skin temperature, so be sure to wear a shower cap or pull your hair off your face and neck before you apply the honey.

Using your fingers, apply a very thin coat of honey to your entire face and if you'd like, your neck and decollete. When the honey is spread evenly, it will bead on your skin much like water beads on your car after the rain.

Leave on for 15 minutes or longer while you lie down and rest or are sitting and watching TV. Your skin will begin to feel very warm and relaxed. And it's VERY hard not to want to lick your lips! But as relaxed as you may feel, DON'T FALL ASLEEP!

Before rinsing, for about 5 minutes, begin to pat your skin lightly with your fingertips in quick tapping motions, as though you are playing the piano. Rinse using a very warm, damp cloth.

RECOMMENDED FOR: all skin types, especially dry, dehydrated, sunburned, windburned, mature or environmentally damaged skin
USE: as desired
FOLLOW WITH: moisturizer, if necessary
PREP TIME: approx 1 minute
BLENDING TOOLS: fingers
YIELD: 1 treatment
Both pictures are while the honey was on my face.
